As an online panel we are all about transmitting data. You provide answers that policymakers, businesses, non-profit and social-profit sector and entrepreneurs are looking for. That’s why we take privacy serious. We are aware that we can only expect you to give honest answers to our questions if we can guarantee that we are treating your data with the necessary caution. Bpact conforms to the code of conduct of the international association of market research agencies, ESOMAR. The rules below will give you a clear picture of our vision of your privacy.
Bpact retains the right to change this Privacy statement at all times. We recommend you consult this Privacy statement at regular intervals, so you may stay informed about any changes and you always know how your personal data may be used.


Which personally identifiable information does Bpact collect about me?

Bpact collects some personal information when you register. During registration Bpact asks you for your email address, gender, date of birth, post code, diploma and activity. On the basis of the profile questions Bpact collects further information which we can use to profile you (employment sector, family situation, marital status, ….) Bpact will link your information to create a profile of you. The more information you provide (and the more accurate it is), the better we can customize your experience. Also, when you contact Bpact, we may keep a record of that contact. Every time Bpact collects personal information, there will be a link on the relevant page to this Privacy Policy.


Who collects data and for what purpose?

Campaigns carried out by the Bpact platform can be sponsored by companies other than Bpact or be jointly sponsored by Bpact and another company. Some or all data collected during this campaign can be shared with the sponsor. This is done in accordance with the Privacy Act, which is the Act of 8 December 1992 on the protection of privacy in relation to the processing of personal data.

Should the data be shared, you will be informed of this before your information is gathered or shared. If you do not want your data to be shared, you can choose not to participate in the relevant campaign. You recognise and accept that Bpact could give your personal information to its partners that manage the Points Programme or Rewards plan. To be clear, this information may include name, address and other  information third parties will need in order to perform the Points Programme and Rewards plan.

With whom does Bpact share my information?

As a general rule Bpact will not disclose any of your personally identifiable information unless we have your permission or under special circumstances, such as when we believe in good faith that the law requires it or under the circumstances as described below.
According to confidentiality agreements Bpact may compare user information with third party data. Bpact can also publish user statistics it collected (for example, 52% of our users are men) in order to describe our services to prospective partners, advertisers and other third parties and for other lawful purposes.


Sharing of personal data

We will not share your personal data with third parties who intend to use your data for direct marketing, unless you have specifically given us permission to do so.
We can share your personal data with third parties, but only in the following instances:

  • We can call on service providers, representatives or subcontractors in order to provide services in the name of Bpact in the framework of your participation in research, questionnaires or participation projects conducted by us or on behalf of a third party, including making suggestions of websites or services which you could make use of. It is possible that these external parties are given access to your personal data or have to process them in order to provide these services.
  • We require, by means of a written agreement from such external parties, which may be located in a country other than the country in which the site or service you are making use of is located, that they adhere to all relevant legislation concerning the protection of privacy and security requirements relating to your personal data.
  • We may disclose personal data if we are legally obliged to do so or if we believe in good faith that such a disclosure may reasonably be considered necessary in order to satisfy legal procedures or to react to any legal claim.

    This means that we will keep your personal data after your last interaction with Bpact for a reasonable period. When we no longer need the personal data which we gathered, we will destroy or remove these in a safe way.

    Bpact members can view, change and delete their account information and their profile, at all times. This can be done by using the link at the end of every e-mail we send. Your account can be deactivated or removed.
